Dear Sir / Madam My name is David, I'm 32 years old, I'm Swiss. I'm very interested in following a professional pilot licence. And I'm interested in your school. But to make a decision, I need to have some information. - do you know if your JAA licence is OK for Switzerland? - the European or Canadian schools have around 80 hours of theory for the CPL (H). Could you explain why your program has 836 hours of theory? - is it possible to do the JAA course ab initio including the B206 type rating, included in the 135 hours of flying? - if I have a Swiss PPL(H) (a JAA country), could I make a formation in your school to become a professional pilot? - could you provide me the name of a swiss pilot who has attended your school? I would like to ask her/him some question about the possibility to become a professional Swiss pilot with a Bristow JAA licence. - could you tell me when is the next available JAA course? Thanks a lot for your time. Best regards, David
1.  Switzerland is a JAA member state and it does recognize the JAA license. (You mention further on in your question "if I have a Swiss PPL(H) (a JAA...

Hello, I am a UH-60 pilot in the US Army, currently deployed to Iraq until November of this year. When not deployed, I am stationed with my wife and two children in Ansbach, Germany. I will be leaving the Army in March of 2012 at the end of my 6 year contract, and am planning on moving my family to Spain as my wife is from there. I intend to continue to work as a helo pilot after separating from the Army, but need to get my JAA CPL(H) for that to be possible in Europe. I currently have 1400 hours helicopter time, which will be more like 1700 hours by March 2012 when I get out of the service. About 1300 hours of that is dual-engine turbine time in the UH-60, with the remaining hundred hours being in a Bell 206. I currently hold an FAA CPL(H) with IR. I currently have around 800 pilot-in-command hours. I would like to pursue a JAA CPL(H) with IR, a JAA CFI rating, and several type ratings. I am currently looking at different schools and trying to figure out the plan that would give me the best training, but would also get me working as fast as possible following my leaving the army. Obviously cost is also a consideration, and my GI Bill benefits as a veteran make doing the training in the US an advantage. Given my experience, is it possible to tailor a program to fit my training needs in pursuing the JAA CPL, or would it be necessary for me to complete the entire 48 week cource? Is it possible to do some of the theory portions through distance learning from my home in Germany? Any information you could provide to help me in my training decision would be much appreciated. Regards, CW2 Tyler N. Stiff A CO, 3-158 AVN "Blue Stars" 12 Combat Aviation Brigade Camp Victory, Iraq
